March is a brilliant time to visit Dublin! There is so much to do, weather tends to be nice and you can even get warm & sunny days (gasp!) and in general, there is just a great buzz around the town! There is more to Dublin in March than St Patrick’s Day parade & shenanigans, so book your beds in Barnacles Temple Bar Hostel to stay in the heart of the action, no matter when you are coming over! Unmissable events in Dublin in March:
St Patrick’s Festival
15-19th March is all about St Patrick’s festival, with the parade taking place on 17th of March. There is so much happening, we really recommend you visit official page for all of the events. The parade is unmissable, global greening looks awesome, but check out big day out if you want more of a funfair feel and Dublin Bay Prawn Festival if you want to stuff yourself full of deliciousness. St Patrick’s festival is more then drinking Guinness until the world turns sideways, so make sure to explore a bit more of Irish culture while you are here!
6 Nations Rugby
Rugby is beautiful sport! The 6 Nations sees Italy, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France competing for the title over several weekends in February and March. Even if you don’t know anything about rugby, you should grab a seat in one of the sport pubs (just ask at reception) and soak up the atmosphere. As 3 matches are played in Dublin, expect a lot of friendly banter and electric atmosphere in pubs! Come on you buys in green!
Dinosaurs Around the World
If you are just a big kid (and who isn’t???) and want to learn about dinosaurs pop down to Ambassador Theatre and check out their interactive exhibit. With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, fossils, authentic casts, cutting-edge research and immersive design elements you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles as it comes to life!
Go for a gig!
3 Arena will see Niall Horan, Stereophonics, Nathan Carter, Paloma Faith, Flight of the Conchords and Sam Smith taking to stage this March. Enjoy the best in music in Dublin this March!
And we have barely scratched the surface of the awesome events… see you in Dublin this March?
