This is going to be summer to remember! This year, Trinity College will be venue for series of 6 amazing gigs in July. We are liking this urban festival taking place in the heart of Dublin! The line-up is seriously impressive, with Gregory Porter (July 6), James Vincent McMorrow (July 7), Bell X1 (July 8) and The Pixies (July 9) all taking to the stage. Two Door Cinema Club (with support from Circa Waves) will also play on July 10, while Alt-J will round off a pretty epic slate of gigs on July 11.
If you are coming over to Trinity College for the gigs, make sure to get cultured a bit and check out the Old Library as well! The Library of Trinity College is the largest research library in Ireland. The original (Old) Library is Thomas Burgh’s masterpiece. A huge building, it originally towered over the university and city after its completion. Even today, surrounded by similarly scaled buildings, it is imposing and dominates the view of the university from Nassau Street. The Book of Kells is by far the Library’s most famous book and is located in the Old Library. Also incorporating the Long Room, the Old Library is one of Ireland’s biggest tourist attractions, and holds thousands of rare, and in many cases very early, volumes.
You can expect to enjoy the following at this year’s Trinity College Gigs:
