Did you know Dublin is heaven for couples? We have some awesome suggestions for you on how to make this Valentines the most romantic one and in case you not coupled, make sure to go to our Valentine’s pub crawl as it is, guaranteed, the best way to meet people, have fun and forget all about heart-shaped everything! So, we picked top things to do in Dublin on Valentine’s day, but really… these are some of our favourite things to do in Dublin on any day! Lets go:
Go up high and admire the view
There isn’t a lot of high rise buildings in Dublin, so getting on top of one is really special – you will see a whole Dublin spread out before you! Two of our favorite views are from either Gravity bar in Guinness Storehouse or from the top of Croke Park.
You will reach the Gravity bar on the end of your Guinness Storehouse tour and get to enjoy a perfect pint. This is the perfect place to hold hands and just chill while watching Dublin underneath your feet. Bonus points – time your visit for sunset and admire purples and pinks playing out on the sky.
Many people don’t know you can go on top of the Croke Park and take a skyline tour. You get to find out about the history of GAA and Croker, while admiring the views of Dublin in all directions. We LOVE this tour!
Both of these are perfect for hand holding, guaranteed!
Get a ride!
Head to Phoenix Park and grab one of the tandem bikes for the fun ride around the park in two’s! They also have a special tandem date package this Valentines that includes Champagne and Strawberry picnic… how romantic is that???
Get loved up in the Zoo
And since you are already in Phoenix park, why not pop in to Dublin Zoo? It’s a great way to spend few hours with your loved one, holding hands while checking out different animals. Get stuffed toy on the end for a memento of this awesome date.

Where better to start a pilgrimage to love than with a visit to St Valentine, the patron saint of lovers? Not many people know it but the saint’s remains are found at the Carmelite Church on Whitefriar Street. If you pay a visit, you’ll find that the Whitefriar Street shrine to St Valentine has been, and continues to be, a place for those celebrating love. Oh, while you are around Whitefriar Street, pop to Whitefriar grill for some top notch food!
Get out of the city!
Get a breath of fresh air in Dublin Bay! Take Dublin Bay Cruise to Howth, go for a cliff walk and finish up with delicious fish & chips or cosy up to fire in one of the traditional pubs in Howth. This is lovely day out on any day! If cruise isn’t going, just take DART – Howth is only 30 min from city center, and you will see completely different side of Dublin while enjoying this wonderful picturesque fishing village.
See you soon in Barnacles Temple Bar Hostel!
