Every now and then we mention how Barnacles Galway Hostel is the best located hostel in Galway, but maybe you need more than our word to believe us? Let us show you!
Barnacles Galway Hostel is located on the Quay Street, in the heart of Galway’s Latin Quarter (a.k.a entertainment area!) and surrounded by traditional pubs, great restaurants, quirky shops, fresh bakeries, great coffee shops and some of the best night clubs & venues you will ever set your foot in!
Right across the street from Barnacles Galway Hostel, you will find legendary Quays pub!
Live music, great gigs, perfect pints, nice food – it’s no wonder that many people don’t venture much further 🙂 Quays pub has a great outside sitting area for a spot of people watching, al fresco dancing or whatever else you get up to! Check out how this legendary bar exists and caters to tourists and Galwegians alike for more than 400 years!
No visit to Ireland is complete without fish & chips (smoked cod for us, please), and McDonaghs Seafood House is the place to go! They have been preparing fish for over 4 generations – no wonder they are considered one of the best Irish Seafood houses! Lucky for you, they are just a few doors down from our Galway’s hostel.
The Spanish Arch dates to 1586 and was originally erected as a measure to protect the Quays. It survived few storms and changes, and is a very popular place to go and start your walk around Claddagh and Salthill from. It is located next to Galway City Museum as well, and less than 20 seconds walk from Barnacles Quay Street Galway City hostel 🙂
For the original souvenir from Galway, check out Claddagh Jewelry and their workshop, right in the heart of Galway!
Stay tuned for more Latin Quarter recommendations in the coming weeks! 🙂
