7 reasons to visit Ireland this February

If you need excuse to visit a bit of time in Ireland this February, here are 7 awesome ones (in no particular order really, but we just like rugby a lot)

1. Rugby
Not one, but two 6 nations matches are coming do Dublin this February! Ireland is taking on Scotland at Aviva Stadium on 2nd February, followed by match against Wales on 8th February. Can Ireland take a Grand Slam again? We surely hope so!

2. Galway Astronomy Festival
In its 11th year, Galway is hosting astronomy festival on 1st of February! Here is hoping for clear skies 🙂

3. Jameson Dublin International Film Festival

If you ever wanted to rub shoulders with your favourite celebrities, Dublin is the place to be! 13th -23rd February is all about movies! You can get the full schedule here . Most of the events are happening around city centre, so Barnacles Temple Bar will be at the heart of all action and celebrities spotting! Some of the celebrities announced for the festival are:John Hurt, Jason Priestley, Brenda Fricker, James Fox, Jean-Marc Barr, Pollyanna McIntosh, Richard Ayoade, and directors David Mackenzie and Jonathan Glazer.

 4. Tedfest
In it’s 8th year, Father Ted fans will meet in the Craggy Island (better known as Inishmore), put their priest and nun outfits on, serve giant cups of tea and play some lovely games. It’s mad! Read this review of previous festival, to get up to date with what to expect.


5. Valentines We know this isn’t particularity Irish, but it definitely is a great excuse to visit Dublin or Galway, don’t you think?  Even better, grab bunch of friends and make an awesome weekend out of it!
