Events in Galway March


As usual, Galway, the city of Festivals do not disappoint! Even though most of the travelers may opt for Dublin for St Patrick’s Day, there is loads to be said about staying in Galway, enjoying smaller parade and more traditional feel of the celebrations. But, there is of course plenty events taking place in Galway in March.

Connacht Rugby v Benetton Treviso (Guinness Pro12) – 01st March

Starting the month with a super sport fixture, Connacht play host to Benetton Treviso at The Sportsground in the Guinness Pro12. Kick-off at 5.15pm. Make sure to mention you have tickets for the match to get discount when saying with us in Galway!

 Head of the River Rowing Regatta – 14th March

This year the Head of the River will be organised by NUIG Boat Club and Tribesmen, and it takes place from the mouth of the lake to a little downstream from the Quincentennial Bridge. Hundreds of boats will take place in the competition, set to last all day from 10.30 am with different boat sizes competing at different times.


St Patrick’s Festival – 14 – 17th March

Time to celebrate all things Irish! Local artist and local community get involved in the festival each year, making it great place to experience St Patrick’s day the Irish way! 2015 marks the 112th anniversary of the Galway St Patrick’s Day Parade. This years theme has yet to be confirmed but the Parade will start at 11.30am and finish at approximately 1.00pm.
