Galway is in the midst of Rally Fever as the we gear up for the Galway International Rally kicking off on the 3rd of Feb!!
The Galway International Rally has a proud, successful history; including being the first ever round of the Irish Tarmac Championship in 1978. Today the rally is still the traditional season opener and a listed event on the World Motorsport Calendar, drawing top competitors and huge crowds of spectators to Galway every year for the February festivities. It has also been a favourite of works World Rally teams, who have used the event in the past couple of years as a shakedown for Rally Ireland.
The weekend long event will kick off from Eyre Square in Galway city. With some of the top international drivers expressing an interest in taking part, it is set to be a weekend to remember! As the rally is now in its 41st year there will be activities throughout the weekend to mark the occasion!
